I am blown away that you are taking time out of your awesome build to look at my lowly build!! Thanks for the encouragement!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

I am back! Spain was amazing to visit, but now it's back to work!
First things first...Siobhan will be headed down a more hardcore path, which means that I need a more streetable DD driver. Meet Hanne!
Hanne is an `87 325e in Burgundrot, with an M50NV mated to a ZF transmission, a Z3 steering rack, Bilstein Sports with Bavauto springs and lots of other goodies. Chief amongst them is a folder thick with receipts. This is a well-maintained car!
What this means is that I can move ahead on Siobhan, and still have something sporty to drive!
When I got back last night, there were a few pretty packages waiting for me. Here are some of their contents.
Among other things, that's the rod bearings, rod bearing bolts, main bearings, main bearing bolts, front crank seal, Front & Rear gaskets, S52 serpentine belt, ZF Clutch Slave Cylinder, the MASSIVE seat brackets for the Recaro LSs for Hanne, AKG DSSR and the DTM Gauge Cluster for Nikita! WHEEEEEE!!!

And I just bought a 3.25LSD!
So, basically all I need for the S52/ZF swap now is the starter, piston rings & an oil pickup tube gasket. I still need to have a hole drilled in the S52 head for the temp sensor and to actually bolt the motor back together.
Cannot WAIT!!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

A little work done tonight...
As requested, pictures of the Recaros installed
First Recaro LS installed. This is in Hanne, my new DD
A big improvement over the comfort seats.
I think they'll look even better when I get the black door cards in.
And then it was time to start with the coilovers on Siobhan! The rears went on fairly easily (IE rear perches & adjusters with Eibach 650# springs).
Samir & I installed the new hubs & bearings on the front spindles, then out together the coilover assembly (Eibach 550 springs, generic spring perches & adjusters, Ground Control Race Camber plates).
Cant't wait to drive with these!
Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the front axle nuts are bigger than the rears, and I didn't have the right size socket. I'll pick one up tomorrow, and get the fronts installed.
Parting shot
More tomorrow!!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Installed the front coils last night. She's lowered, but not slammed. I want to see how much the springs settle, then I'll tweak it from there. I'll need to get the new Toyo Proxes on, then get an alignment done. (Zero toe, -3 degress camber.) Maybe I'll drop the back end tonight another turn... Not going for 'Mad Stance, Yo!', rather I'm trying to set this up well for the track.
Can't wait to get the new ZF trans installed this weekend!!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Got another package in the mail today...a HEAVY one!
Here's the new 3.25LSD for Siobhan! That was the last piece of the puzzle that was missing for me to be able to do my ZF trans swap. Now the question is, do I wait for the S52 to be finished up, and install them together, or do I rush in and swap the trans now, so I can drive her again? Decisions, decisions!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Sorry, Ross. That word doesn't seem to be in my dictionary. So, onwards! Friday I am ordering the last round of parts for the S52 swap! Rings, the correct starter motor, valve cover gasket set & oil pan gasket set.
Bob didn't feel comfortable doing the hone himself, so it's gone to the machine shop to have it done properly. Getting really excited for this thing to be done! The chassis & suspension are pretty much there...now it's time for MOAR POWAH!
...and more brakes! :)Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.
